WNBL Semi-finals 1^st Leg, Tuesday 22 May: Qian Xi Red 72-49 Siglap (7.30pm) and Hillcrest Grays 71-23 Qian Xi Blue (9.00pm).

Qian Xi Red enjoyed a relatively comfortable win against Siglap in the first leg of the WNBL 2018 semi-finals. Qian Xi continues their rampant run in the competition by having 9 games unbeaten, and already eyeing a spot in the Finals. Results of the four periods: 17-14, 15-17, 24-7 and 18-11. Wong Valentia Shu Ting of Qian Xi Red is the top scorer in the game with 18 points while Siglap’s Chin Wan Qing scored 14 points. Qian Xi Red will be approaching the second leg of the semi-finals confidently with an eye on the Finals on Sunday, 27 May as well as on the championship. On the other hand, the odds are stacking on Siglap. Siglap will have a mountain to climb on the second leg and they will try and go all out on Thursday, 24 May to cause an upset for the spot in the Finals.  

Hillcrest Grays displayed one of their best performances in the competition so far, dominating the game from the first period against Qian Xi Blue: 20-8, 10-10, 24-5, 17-0. They had interestingly, prevented Qian Xi Blue from scoring in the last period. Both sides did try their luck from 2 & 3 point areas whenever a chance arises, though most of the actions were around the rings with Hillcrest Grays being the more clinical side. Yoshida Yukie of Hillcrest Grays wins the most points and Total Rebounds in the game, 17 & 10 respectively. Qian Xi Blue’s Siew Mun is the top scorer for her side with 7 points. Like Siglap, Qian Xi Blue would need lots of luck and to be on top of their game, while hoping Hillcrest Grays slip up in the next leg of the semi-finals to have any chance of qualifying to the Finals.

The 2^nd leg of the semi-finals will be played on Thursday, 24 May:

·         QIAN XI BLUE VS HILLCREST GRAYS (7.30pm)             

·         SIGLAP VS QIAN XI RED (9.00pm)

The Finals for the WNBL 2018 will be played on Sunday, 27 May in Singapore Basketball Centre at 6.00pm between the winner of SF 1 and winner of SF 2, while the 3^rd Place play-off will be on the same day at 4.00pm.
