Friendly game between Singapore and Hong Kong held on 29 December 2019 at Singapore Basketball Centre, as part of Hong Kong National Team’s training tour to Singapore. Hong Kong edged past Singapore 73-70.

Appointment of BAS Hon Secretary Dr Koh & Technical Chairman Mr Ong to the FIBA Asia Permanent Committee
BAS congratulates both Honorary Secretary Dr Koh Koon Teck (Right) and Technical Committee Chairman Mr Ong Peng Kiat (Left) on the appointment to the FIBA Asia Permanent Committees for the Term of Office 2019-2023! Together with Dr Koh’s recent appointment to the FIBA Technical Commission, Dr Koh has been appointed as a member to the Development Committee (South East), while Mr Ong is appointed to the Youth Committee (South East), as part of the FIBA Asia Permanent Committees 2019-2023 Term. The FIBA Asia Permanent Committee consists of 11 Sub- Committees with representatives from different sub-zones (Asia Region) from different countries in Asia aiming to develop basketball in Asia. With both Dr Koh’s and Mr Ong’s expertise & experiences, BAS is confident that they will contribute vastly to the development of basketball in Asia!
U18 Men’s & Women’s National Teams Selection Trials
A Selection Trial for the U18 Men’s and Women’s National Teams will be conducted at Singapore Basketball Centre (SBC) on the following dates: 4 January 2020 (Saturday) – 2.00pm to 5.00pm 11 January 2020 (Saturday) – 2.00pm to 5.00pm Players born between years 2002 to 2004 with Singapore Passport are welcome to attend the trials. Congratulations to Nanyang, Champions of ActiveSG-BAS National Basketball League Qualifying Round 2019! 2nd Place: Hoops Factory 3rd Place: Sin Kee (SKC) 4th Place: Police S.A. Final: Nanyang 65 – 47 Hoops Factory 3rd/4th Place: Police S.A. 42 – 65 Sin Kee (SKC) Both Finalists Nanyang and Hoops Factory will be promoted and eligible to compete in the 2020 National Basketball League Division I! ActiveSG-BAS NBL Q Round 2019 Final: Hoops Factory vs Nanyang!
Semi-Final Results on Thursday, 13 December! The finalists for the ActiveSG-BAS Qualifying Round are out! Hoops Factory will play against Nanyang in the Final at 6.00pm while Police S.A. and Sin Kee (SKC) will battle for the 3rd/4th Place match earlier on at 4.00pm, on Sunday 15 December! SEA Games 5-on-5 Basketball 5th/6th Classification Match
Singapore defeated Malaysia 89 – 75 in the 5th/6th classification match on 8 December to finish 5th Place in the 2019 SEA Games 5-on-5 basketball event. Group A: Singapore 58 – 110 Philippines (4 December) Singapore 78 – 99 Vietnam (5 December) Singapore 102 – 62 Myanmar (6 December) Cambodia beat Myanmar 110 – 92 to finish 7th in the 7th/8th classification match. Thank you to all supporters who had supported Team Singapore!

Singapore National Men’s Basketball Team for the 2019 SEA Games Following defeats to Philippines and Vietnam, Singapore will play the final Group A match against Myanmar later at 12pm noon. Singapore will also play a final placing game (5th/6th Placing or 7th/8th Placing) on Sunday, 8 December. Good luck & all the best to Team Singapore!
