Appointment of BAS Hon Secretary Dr Koh & Technical Chairman Mr Ong to the FIBA Asia Permanent Committee

BAS congratulates both Honorary Secretary Dr Koh Koon Teck (Right) and Technical Committee Chairman Mr Ong Peng Kiat (Left) on the appointment to the FIBA Asia Permanent Committees for the Term of Office 2019-2023! Together with Dr Koh’s recent appointment to the FIBA Technical Commission, Dr Koh has been appointed as a member to the Development Committee (South East), while Mr Ong is appointed to the Youth Committee (South East), as part of the FIBA Asia Permanent Committees 2019-2023 Term. The FIBA Asia Permanent Committee consists of 11 Sub- Committees with representatives from different sub-zones (Asia Region) from different countries in Asia aiming to develop basketball in Asia. With both Dr Koh’s and Mr Ong’s expertise & experiences, BAS is confident that they will contribute vastly to the development of basketball in Asia!
U18 Men’s & Women’s National Teams Selection Trials

A Selection Trial for the U18 Men’s and Women’s National Teams will be conducted at Singapore Basketball Centre (SBC) on the following dates: 4 January 2020 (Saturday) – 2.00pm to 5.00pm 11 January 2020 (Saturday) – 2.00pm to 5.00pm Players born between years 2002 to 2004 with Singapore Passport are welcome to attend the trials. SEA Games 5-on-5 Basketball 5th/6th Classification Match

Singapore defeated Malaysia 89 – 75 in the 5th/6th classification match on 8 December to finish 5th Place in the 2019 SEA Games 5-on-5 basketball event. Group A: Singapore 58 – 110 Philippines (4 December) Singapore 78 – 99 Vietnam (5 December) Singapore 102 – 62 Myanmar (6 December) Cambodia beat Myanmar 110 – 92 to finish 7th in the 7th/8th classification match.
