Registration Now Open for the Inaugural FIBA Masters Open 2026
Following FIBA’s official communication, we are pleased to share important updates on the inaugural FIBA Masters Open 2026, which will take place from 4 to 12 July 2026 in Greece.
The strong interest shown by National Member Federations worldwide reflects the growing momentum behind the Masters Basketball movement. This initiative represents an exciting opportunity to further strengthen lifelong participation in basketball.
Strong Global Momentum
A significant number of federations have already expressed interest in participating in and developing Master’s Basketball within their countries. The Masters Basketball project offers several strategic benefits, including:
- Increasing licensed player numbers by providing structured competition opportunities for athletes aged 40+
- Expanding fan engagement through active senior participation
- Inspiring younger generations, as senior athletes often serve as role models
- Unlocking new funding, partnership, and sponsorship opportunities
- Strengthening the national basketball ecosystem through lifelong participation pathways
BAS encourages all eligible teams and stakeholders within our basketball community to explore this opportunity.
Registration Is Now Open
Team registration for the inaugural FIBA Masters Open is now officially open.
Participation is not limited to national teams. Teams from Singapore — including club teams, community teams, senior groups, and self-organised teams — are eligible to register and compete.
The team may also choose to register across various age categories. However, team spots per category are limited and cannot be reserved once full. Early registration is strongly encouraged to secure participation.
Help Us Spread the Word
To build strong representation from Singapore, we encourage clubs, players, and stakeholders to share this opportunity widely within the basketball community.
Further event details can be found on the official FIBA Masters Open website and its dedicated social media platforms.
The Basketball Association of Singapore looks forward to supporting Masters Basketball development and hopes to see strong participation at this historic inaugural event.
