JR NBA SINGAPORE 2019

Jr. NBA – the NBA’s global youth development program that promotes basketball participation and an active lifestyle among children is back in Singapore for the fourth year! Presented by ActiveSG Basketball Academy, the program is free across all stages for youths between the ages of 5 and 14. Through a series of basketball clinics and selection trials, participants will be trained in the fundamentals of basketball and learn the importance of the Jr. NBA’s core values, including Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude, and Respect (S.T.A..R.). As part of the programme, participants might stand a chance to represent Asia Pacific in the second annual Jr. NBA Global Championship held in Orlando, United States! Singapore Community Games 2019 Finals held on 28 April at Singapore Basketball Centre.  Guest-of-Honour: BAS President Mr David Ong was present to present trophies & medals to the winning teams! Congratulations to all the winning teams!

Congratulations to the following Winners from the ActiveSG-BAS Basketball Development League 2019 “B” Division! B Girls 1st Place: North Vista Secondary School 2nd Place: CHIJ Secondary School (Toa Payoh) 3rd Place: Ngee Ann Secondary School 4th Place: Presbyterian High School B Boys 1st Place: Temasek Junior College 2nd Place: Jun Yuan Secondary School 3rd Place: Chung Cheng High School (Main) 4th Place: Juying Secondary School (A) A total of 48 teams (41 Boys and 7 Girls) participated in 2019!  The League aims to provide participants with the opportunity to enjoy increased participation as well as allowing him/her for more exposure for developmental pathway. 2019 ActiveSG-BAS National Masters Basketball Tournament begins on 2 March!

ActiveSG-BAS National Masters Tournament 2019 The 2019 ActiveSG-BAS National Masters Tournament will begin tomorrow on Saturday, 2 March! This year’s edition will see action from the Men’s 40-49 Years Category. The First Round will see 3 games in Group A: Oldham vs PV Crew (6pm) O’Boyz vs Pinko Print (6pm) Ocean 15 vs D’fenders (7.30pm) Another Round of 3 games in Group B will follow: Siglap Basketball Club vs B-Pro Basketball.TH (7.30pm) Eng Tat Hornets vs Macpherson Team 2 (9pm) Marshals vs Xiongfeng (9pm) The Quarter-Finals will commence from Sunday, 24 March, while the Finals and 3rd-Place Play-offs will be held on Sunday, 31 March 2019. BAS CNY Appreciation Dinner 2019

BAS CNY Appreciation Dinner 2019 Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) hosted its annual CNY Appreciation Dinner to thank all Stakeholders for their enormous support and contributions on Sunday, 17 February 2019! This year, close to 140 guests attended the Dinner held at Jubilee Garden Restaurant (SAFRA Toa Payoh), including Guest of Honour President BAS Mr David Ong, Former President Dr Ho Kah Leong, Head of CoachSG Mr Troy Engle, and Assistant Director of People’s Association Ms Jolene Tan. Current & ex MC Members, Valued Partners, Sponsors, Club Representatives, National Teams Players & Coaches and friends were also present at the Dinner. Guests participated in Lo Hei as part of the New Year Celebrations, and were treated to Karaoke Sessions and Lucky Draws to welcome the arrival of the Year of the Pig! In his speech, President Mr David Ong expressed gratitude to all guests and Stakeholders present for their hard work and support, and also shared that BAS will continue the good work with all Stakeholders involved to develop basketball further! Mr David Ong concludes by wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year, and contemplates on another eventful year ahead!
