Call for Applications: National Team Coaches
The Basketball Association invites applications for the following positions under our National Selection & Development (S&D) Framework:
- U16 National Team Coach (Boys & Girls)
- U23 National Team Coach (Men & Women)
- Senior National Team Coach (Men & Women)
These roles are integral to our structured national pathway, ensuring alignment across age groups and supporting the principle of Right Player, Right Role, Right System.
Key Responsibilities
Athlete Development
- Deliver structured, periodised training programmes aligned to LTAD principles
- Monitor performance benchmarks and athlete progression
- Provide training plans
Selection & Talent Identification
- Assist and apply clear, merit-based selection criteria
- Contribute to scouting and regional talent identification efforts
- Support transition of athletes between pathway stages
System & Coach Development
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and coaching clinics
- Mentor emerging coaches within the pathway
- Contribute to national coaching curriculum development
Competition & Representation
- Lead teams in regional and international competitions
- Model professionalism and national values
Requirements
- Relevant coaching certification (Level 1/2/3 or equivalent preferred)
- Experience in youth or high-performance environments
- Strong understanding of long-term athlete development
- Ability to work within a structured national framework
- Commitment to collaborative leadership and system growth
