FIBA Asia Cup 2021 2nd-Round Pre-Qualifiers - Confirmed Competition Schedule

FIBA has confirmed the Competition Schedule for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 2nd-Round Pre-Qualifiers (Eastern Region) from 26 November to 1 December 2018, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Group A will see Indonesia, the highest ranked team in tournament according to the Men’s FIBA World Rankings at 97, will compete against Malaysia (ranked 104) and Macau (ranked 148).

 

Singapore (ranked 102) are drawn to Group B with Fiji (unranked), Guam (unranked) and Hosts Thailand (ranked 103).

 

All teams will play in a single round-robin format within their respective groups in the first three days of the tournament. The tournament opening game on November 26th will be between Fiji and Guam. The hosts, Thailand, will then take on Singapore before the final game of the day between Malaysia and Indonesia.

 

Each group's top 3 teams will then advance to the second round, where they will be pitted against the teams in the opposite groups.

 

The four qualified teams from the competition will join the competition's Western Region to be among the 24 teams competing at the FIBA Asia Cup 2021.
