WNBL Game Day 6

Game Day 6 of the WNBL 2018 saw another day of action between 8 teams in 4 games: ADROIT (新加坡圣公文化) Blue 36-59 Kembangan Chai-Chee CSC; Qian Xi Blue beaten Radin Mas by a slim margin: 51-41; Jumpshot suffered a defeat to Siglap 38-80 and finally in the Game to Watch: Qian Xi Red came out on top against Hillcrest Grays 52-42 to remain the only side unbeaten in this competition.

The first match at 4PM saw ADROIT (新加坡圣公文化) Blue suffered their 5th consecutive lost in a row while Kembangan claimed their first win in the competition. Top scorers for respective teams: Ang Lydia Zi Yi (12 points) for ADROIT (新加坡圣公文化) Blue and Koh Sheryl Huiqi (13 points) for Kembangan.

In the next game at 5.30PM, Qian Xi Blue claimed their second win against 7th placed Radin Mas. Qian Xi Blue has a new top scorer for this game with Tang Choy Ting winning 10 points for her side while Radin Mas’s Ong Sin Kee with 12 points but unable to help her side win the match.  

In the third game at 7PM, Jumpshot lost to Siglap in a game that Siglap outscored their opponents in all quarters. Siglap’s top scorer Lim Yi Jieh Edna scored 22 points to massively help her side to victory, while Choo Jie Ying and Lim Jing Jing Joanne both managed 11 points each.  Ironically, Jumpshot ranked higher than Siglap to a point, 5thand 6th placing respectively.

In the Game to Watch at 8.30PM, Qian Xi came out on top in a ‘Clash of the Titans’ match against Hillcrest Grays to win 52-42. Qian Xi win the first period already with a score 18-11. Despite Hillcrest Grays winning the last period 11-12, it is ultimately not enough to win them the match. Even with the lost, Hillcrest Grays still tops the ranking table with 9 points while Qian Xi Red comes in second with 8 points. Top scorer and Top Rebounds for Qian Xi Red- Lim Rui Jia Alanna with 12 points and 14 rebounds) while Yao Xiu Xiu also for Hillcrest Grays with 9 points (6 rebounds).

Upcoming Game Day 7, Wednesday, 25 April, will feature Kembangan Chai-Chee vs Qian Xi Blue (7.30PM) and Radin Mas vs Siglap (9PM).
