BAS Statement on Passing of Mr Jek Yeun Thong, Former President of BAS
Basketball Association of
Singapore (BAS), wish to convey its deepest condolences to the family of Mr Jek
Yeun Thong on his passing.
Mr Jek was the President
of Basketball Association of Singapore from 1967 to 1973. Mr Jek was
subsequently named as Honorary Life President of BAS.
During his tenure as the
President of BAS, Mr Jek had contributed greatly towards the development and
laying the foundation of the basketball scene in Singapore. Mr Quek Hiang
Chiang, Advisor to BAS, said: ‘Mr Jek has maintained a positive outlook that
reflects on his dedication to the promotion of basketball in Singapore’.
