The Technical Committee of the Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) would like to invite all interested individual to enroll in the Referee Course. You will learn the rules and know how to officiate basketball games. Upon completion of the Referee Course, you will be given opportunity to officiate in high-level local basketball games. In addition, you may be selected to attend FIBA Referee Clinic and upon successful completion, you will also be given opportunities to officiate in regional basketball game

SAFSA goes into its 4-game unbeaten streak with another win against Adroit in a closely fought match. SAFSA maintained an advantage in the 1st two periods but Adroit managed to claw back in the last two periods, but ultimately futile in 3rd place following 2 wins and a loss in the current campaign.  Top scorer for the game goes to Wong Wei Long (Adroit) with 21 points while runner up goes to Delvin Goh of SAFSA with 18 points.           

In the next game at 5.30pm, SBPHK Hornets defeated Tagawa to go second in the table and is the team beside SAFSA to go unbeaten following the conclusion of Day 6 of ICBC NBL 2018. This is Tagawa’s second loss and cost them in the rankings, currently in 5th placing. Desmond Oh Wei Jie of SBPHK Hornets is the top scorer in the game with 19 points while Tagawa’s Chan Tzu Xiong had 17 points.

In the last game at 7pm, SG Basketball emerged victorious against Xin Hua SC to trail behind leaders SAFSA by 3 points. Xin Hua remained winless after three games played and there will be a lot of work to be done before their next outing against Siglap on 15 August. SG Basketball’s Ng Shi Yang is the game’s top scorer with 21 points while next joint-runner up is SG Basketball’s Lim Shengyu and Yap Ching Poh with both 18 points.

Game Day 7 - will Kai Xuan able to derail SAFSA’s ongoing momentum (7pm)? Will Siglap able to clinch their first win of the campaign against Tong Whye (4pm) and lastly, who will emerged victorious between SG basketball and Tagawa (5.30pm).

FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers 2nd Round (Men's)

The FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers (Eastern Region) will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 27 November to 4 December 2018. 

Eastern Region group consist of Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia (SEABA) and Macau (sole team from East Asia sub-zone). The two Oceania teams are Fiji and Guam. 

(Western Region) will be held in Bahrain from 11 to 15 September 2018. These Pre-Qualifiers will see five teams — Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Gulf Zone), Palestine (West Asian Zone), Sri Lanka and Bangladesh (South Asian Zone) — vying for four qualifying spots. 

Thereafter, the top four top teams each from these Eastern and Western Region Pre-Qualifiers will join the 16 FIBA Asia Cup 2017 teams to make a total of 24 teams to play the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers which will tip-off in November 2019 after the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.

IBF Youth Leaders Basketball Cup Singapore Registration

Registration for the IBF Youth Leaders Basketball Cup is now opened from 9 July and will end on 20 July 2018.

The IBF Youth Leaders Basketball Programme is an inaugural programme recently launched in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands by the International Basketball Foundation (IBF), FIBA’s Foundation. The competition is unique where the teams will be playing in a mixed U18 3x3 competition, where each participating team will comprise of 2 females and 2 males.

This competition will serve as the qualifying tournament for the IBF Youth Leaders U18 3x3 Cup in Bali from 7-9 September 2018.

Key details:

·         Category: U18 Mixed 3x3 (2 females and 2 males per team born on or after 1 January 2000)

·         Entry Fee: $100

·         Registration Period: 9-20 July 2018, or when all 16 slots have been filled up

·         Number of teams: Maximum of 16 teams only, on a first-come-first basis (provided all necessary forms and procedures are adhered to)

·         Winning team will stand the chance to represent Singapore to the IBF Youth Leaders Basketball Cup in Bali from 6-10 September 2018
